Grizzly Stik Woodies
« on: February 10, 2009, 11:46:00 PM »
What happened to the Grizzly Stik Woodies?  When they came out I had just ordered some arrows, now I need arrows and was wanting to give them a try and I cant find them anywhere.  Did they discontinue them already and if so, Why?

AK Bowhunting discontinued them before they had a chance to hit the ground.  This was due to a large shipment of the shafts being mis-marked.  Such as marked 500 but, should have been 600.

I have a  couple of dozen in stock that where not mis-marked.  2-Dozen 600 and 1 1/2 Dozen 500.

Boy that stinks.  500 and 600 would be too weak for me I think.  Thanks Badger

What is the difference in the 500 and 600 in terms of bow weight.  I am still trying to get this carbon stuff down.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

There were some of the mis-marked Banshees and Woodies listed on the auction site a few days ago.

The 500s are very stiff cut at 28ins. 60-70lbs, more like 65-75lbs.

Just in time to try the new Raptor Signature 5/16" parallel carbon woodies, 32" long weigh at 280 Grain , spine at 70# but very tolerant of lighter bows , I have been testing with 50# and 55# longbow and they fly like darts.
New internal foot system that lets you custom match to the weight you want.
Nothing on the web site as yet but give us a call at 541-386-4503

Ted,
I saw your post about them earlier about these arrows.  How much are they going to be and when do you expect them to be available?  At the length and weight you list, that only comes out to 8.75gpi.  I would want something quite a bit heavier than that.  How much weight can you add with the internal footing?

I will have some new Arrow Dynamic parallel wood grain shafts early next week.  It will be great to compare them to the CX and Gold Tip carbons.

I didn't know Arrow dynamic was going to make a parallel wood grain shaft???  What are the specs supposed to be?

They are totally new.  5/16" dia like most other carbons.  Only one spine (mid range 50/70) for now.  Once I get them in I will post more on them.

They are available right now Dan , we have them in stock, as far as specs , like Badger said 5/16" dia and spine at 32" with a 8.75 gpi.
With the new weight system you can make them the FOC and the weight you want easily as well as acheive the internal footing issue we have been working on.
Awesome wood grain just like the Arrow Dynamics Traditional shaft. Feel free to call 541-386-4503 for any questions.

I can't believe I finally find a carbon that my bows like and flies like a dart and they quit making them. The Grizzlystik Woodies I got are great and was wanting some more. Guess I will see what is available on the auction site. Sigh.

Hey, I know a great trad guy who runs a big website called  www.bowhuntingstuff.com  . His name is Doug Beshere.  He's not a sponsor here but is a major trad enthusiast.
He has large quantities of the Grizzly Stik Woodies in all the spines and has them priced "right".
Doug has also been doing some testing on them and can help you get the right spine for your setup.
If you go to his web page and click on arrow shafts & carbon, you'll see what he's got.
Hope nobody gets upset for me posting this.
I'm only as good as my first shot.
