greg, what is the weight of your arrows? i've also got a 54# recurve and i can't decide whether to use it, or my 69# recurve on elk.

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Clint   The arrow weight full length with a 125 Magnus was about 535 grains if I remember right.

I shot them tonight out of the 54# Knight, a 61# 58" Thunderhorn and a 65# 66" Brackenbury and they flew great out of all three.

The 54# has been working great on bulls and a nice big bear. I pull it to about 57 or 58# at a little over 29".
