CD's on Turkey Hunting/Calling?
« on: March 02, 2009, 10:01:00 PM »
Any good suggestions on turkey calling CD's.  I've got some time to kill in my truck and would love to listen to some good advice for turkey hunting.  I've got the elknut CD series on calling elk and really learned a lot.  Anything comparable out there for turkey calling.

Primos has a really good CD teaching turkey calling with a diaphragm.  My wife bought a 3 (or 4) pack of calls that came with one and she learned super fast!  It's mostly about how to use the call.  Not so much about when to call and what calls to use at such and such time.  But if you're wanting to learn to use the call it's a great investment.  IMHO.

And a little side note: Primos also has a guy that hunts with a recurve on their team.  =)

If you'll do a Google search you can find all kinds of free MP3 downloads on the net. They're free for the looking. I made my own Cd a few years back with 12 to 15 different turkey sounds on it.

Put a rubberband losely on your box call and toss it down the side of the hill.  If you don't have a hill handy (Kansas), drop it a few times.

Thanks Sweeney!  That is a solid link there.

I especially found this one useful...   Call Descriptions and Samples

And at 10 bucks a CD the prices are right!
