New WhisperStik...KajikaStik! (added more pictures)

So JD calls me and says it’s done so I make the trip across state to pick it up…no shipping needed.  Plus I got to learn the “Flemish Twist”; wow is that going to be fun to perfect.  I’m ordering a jig this afternoon so I’ll be able to put the strings together later this week.

So back to “done”…my KajikaStik was complete so I headed over to pick it up and learn a few things…strings, leather grips just hang out and talk bows.

It took me way to long (started back too late...I was having too much fun) to get home (wife gave me this look when I got home     ), three lanes into one and then back I went…top speed was about 60 in the blinding rain and road spray.  I decided after I got the look       that I should spend the rest of the night with her and the kids.

It has been raining nonstop since I got home; I had hoped to get some pictures in the sunlight…not to be.  So I’ll take some another way, these to follow!

Here are a few to hold ya over till I get some of my bow.  56”, 58” and 60” KajikaStik’s all out of gray actionwood.

   

Sorry this is all I've got...oh one more.  Finally saw Jim "I'm not worthy" Copperhead bow in person since it was finished, the last time I saw it in person we had just applied the skins.

I stopped by Jim's place last week and that KajikaStik is very cool. And, damn those skins he does are beautiful. I took hold of the 3 grip styles and they are nice. The risers are so small on the takedown that when held alone they feel very light. Then he showed me the wood he has on hand right now and the character in the limb laminations is unreal. Few other bowyers can get the most from their wood like that. I was fortunate that I didn't have to fight weather, but he had to pick me up at the end of his driveway with the 4WD. His driveway was like the Jeep proving grounds. He is making bows like mad right now. He had a bunch in various stages. Cool to see a glimpse as to how it is done. It does take a lot of time and equipment to get into making bows. The forms alone would drain my bank. It is truly a passion. Keep it up!

Sorry about the delay...

Riser:  Osage and Myrtle
Longbow limbs: Myrtle veneers with Osage & Bamboo cores.
Recurve limbs: Myrtle Veneers with Osage cores.

The myrtle is not like normal curly myrtle you see in a lot of bows…it has color and grain like actionwood, I think it would be tiger striped flat grain if I'm not mistaken.

Just as an FYI...the three gray actionwood bow are for sale he made them for stock bows.

Taking the LB out this afternoon for the first real shooting, hopefully I'll find out what it likes today.

Nice looking bow, Josh.  Let's see a closeup of the image on the riser.  Is that a Whisperstik logo?  What is the grip material?  I like it.  Do you know the specs on those gray bows?

I'll try to get a close-up of the grip tonight after work...I'm going to go shoot it now so I will not have time before work to do both.

It is a Whisperstik logo, awesome looking in person.

The grip material is brown leather but it has a lot of character in the grain.  He also put one on my Savannah and it looks great and changes the whole feel of the bow.

The 56" gray actionwood was sold after I left I believe it was 62 lbs at 28".  The 58" is 63 @ 28 and the 60" is #60 at 29".

I have to go shot it now...

Thanks...are you going to be able to do a shoot(s) again this year?  The R100 was fun, I have some photo's from the shoot to email you, I'll try to get that done tonight.

I love the LB limbs...it shoots 31" Axis 400's with 300 grain out front amazing!

Need a 200 grain broadhead combo now!

First shot hit the bull’s-eye and the rest were very good.  Shot about 40 or so arrows and can't wait to get home and shoot it some more!
