Bear Montana string

Reading a lot of suggestion about replacing the stock string on the montana. Why is it recommended to pad the loops of a D97 bowstring?

Joel, it's only recommended if you are using a smaller number of strand string, like 6,8 or 10. This is a cushion for the tips.

I like to pad the loops on my D97,I think it helps to make a quieter string by making the loop ends a larger diameter spreading out the load by giving alittle more cushion. It may or may not help, but I always make them that way and I'm satisfied with them.I padded the loops on the old FF strings also.

It may only be two stands, but a 16 strand flemish twist was quieter than the 14 strand flemish twist on the bow i had.And i didn`t pad the loops. And i also had beaver fur string silincers on to.Made the bow real quiet.
