JKT, Shrew, ....
« on: March 15, 2009, 05:26:00 PM »
Who else out there makes those nifty supershort longbows?  I love my little 54" /56" R/D longbows, and with both a JKT and Shrew I was wondering who else makes a LB in those sizes?

I appears I have a "problem"....    :help:     :campfire:

Anybody know the link to Mike's website?  I've looked all over for it and couldn't find it.

The question that is asked does not mention whether the short bows can be used by those of us with long draw lengths. That factor greatly reduces the bows that fit the category. I know that the Shrew, Black Swan, and even my little 56" Morrison ILF Mini-14 with "C" longbow limbs will work. I have a 29 1/2" draw length. The Shrew and the Black Swan in a 56" length will work out to a 32" draw. I'm sure there are others that will work for those of us with a long draw length.

Thats a really good point, Allen.  My draw is around 28" - 28.5" if I get excited.

The JKT at 56" feels great to me, and the Shrew's 54".  I think 56" would probably be about the size I'm looking for that would still work with my DL.  I looked at Blackswan's website but didn't see a LB in 56", though I'm sure a phonecall could remedy that.

Black Swan has a very nice 56" in the various limb designs, including the longbow and hybrid (R/D) longbow limbs. David Knipes (Vermonster13) has all the information you would need on those bows and can tell you his personal experiences.
