Can you get too much catalyst in the mix. If so what would the effects be?

As the directions read, it would harden faster.

I have found that if you use to much catalyst the finish has a tendency to crack on the working part of the limbs and will chip easier. This cracking can also be caused by applying to much finish to the limbs.

Just add 1.9 ml of catylist to an ounce of finish and you will never have a problem.
