How many of you use some type of stopping agent with your broadheads when turkey hunting? I've heard stories of guys smoking birds and watching them fly away forever.

I don't use a Scorpio behind my head for any stopping "agent". For turkeys I use heavy cedar arrows tipped with 160 grain Snuffers.

I have not killed one with my trad gear yet, but I have taken a lot with my compound, set from 70-87#'s and have only had one pass through. if you hit them right you will not pass through without any stoppers. Hit them right in the wing butt and they won't go more than a few feet and you won't pass through. Most guys hit them too low and too far back.....you will pass through there

A Turkeys vitals are a little further back than most people think, aim for the middle and you can't go wrong, there is a lot of breast in the front. If you miss high or low in the middle you usually have a kill shot.

I do most of the time. A muzzy grasshopper behind my normal deer head.  I have lost 2 well hit birds out of 45 taken this way.I think the arrow in them plays games with them mentally(no proof of this  :)  )  so they don't take off as much. Shot a few without the hopper. I use my deer setup because I shoot the most accurate with it. Which is really the most important thing with turkey.

I use snuffers and a string tracker, only lost one. Shoot for the hip joint and they have a heck of a time running or flying. Did I mention STRING TRACKER?
