Zephyr or Delta for hogs
« on: March 25, 2009, 09:18:00 AM »
With as "tough" as hogs are, which head would be a better choice, one with a bigger cutting diameter, or a little smaller cutting diameter. Both of these heads are 2 blade

I will be shooting a 58#,and a 62# BW Longbows

Arrow:  Arrow Dynamincs Traditional 715 Gr

Which Zephyr?

The Delta is a great all around head for hogs with that bow weight you are shooting.  Nothing wrong with the Sasquates either on MOST hogs.  But when you get one with catcher's mitts hanging off the side...I'd prefer the Delta or the Scirrocco.

Put them both in your quiver and go for it.  Kripes, any broadhead with such a heavy arrow will work on almost anything. You can see what the Delta did on a bunch of hogs in the Dangerous Game forum under KingWouldBe's California hog thread...

I don`t shoot near the energy you do and I`ve killed a lot of hogs with big MagnusI heads. I`ll think you`ll be fine. If you run into a biggun like Terry mentioned I`d hold low in the pocket ,anything else won`t be good.RC
