How to start an archery club?????
« on: March 27, 2009, 09:33:00 AM »
WE have 40-60 people that want to start a local archery club. Does anyone have or know of a "blueprint" for starting a club?
We need help with tax status, liability and more!

Any one? Thanks!

In the classified section of Trad Bowhunter there is usually an ad by an insurance agent who works with archery clubs. I'll bet he can help you.

Check with NFAA, IBO and ASA for liability insurance benefits. These groups provide ins for clubs with a minimum number of members.(usually 10).
Banks will usually provide free checking with non profit groups also.

If you tie your club to a state club that has NFAA shoots then you can get the insurance reasonable.

Tax status, you will need to apply to be a "not for profit org.",501c3 status is too costly.

You won't need to file taxes unless the club takes in more than 25,000 a year. If you pay any employees the form 1099 comes into play.
