Torges' tree seat question
« on: March 19, 2007, 02:49:00 PM »
I plan to start hunting from the ground more and I built my first Dean Torges style tree seat this weekend. After I was finished I started to look at the design and wondered if a V cut to brace against the tree might accomodate differing sizes of trees better than the semi-circle design. Anyone try a V cut on their seat or have any input on which might be the better option?

I use the V and it works well.  I just set my miter saw at 45 deg. and cut two corners off.  Then I put my hinges on.  If you were doing a one piece it could easily be cut with a hand saw or a band saw.  Heck as easy as they are to make try it, you can always give one away!  Good luck

Tried it, but prefer the semi circle or boxed out type cut. I make a whole bunch and keep them all over the areas I hunt.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
