River Cane Footing ?
« on: April 06, 2009, 11:19:00 AM »
I'm working on my first cane arrow and I need some suggestions on how to do a foreshaft/footing. What type of joint or attachment is the best. If anyone has any pics or links that would be a huge help...Thanks in advance.

I believe there is a detailed one in the buildalong section here.I did mine without foreshafts and I did selfnocks and they turned out fine.

I do mine without footings too. The ones I have seen have a tapered joint. Same taper as a glue on head with a socket to match in the cane. Super glue(unless you want the foreshaft to release) and a thread wrap on the cane at the joint.
