Update on my shrew arrows
« on: April 06, 2009, 09:02:00 PM »
So I have played with wood and aluminums and now carbons.

this is the setup

Shrew Classic hunter - 56" - takedown - 58# @ 28" and I draw about 28.5" and have one of Ron's strings so I am not sure what it is but she's on the thin side of things.

Brace height - 7-3/8"
Knock Point - 3/8"
three fingers under

I am shooting MFX beman carbons - 340 - 30-1/8" BOP with 100 grain brass inserts and 145 grain field tips and 165 grain c/w insert magnus II broadheads.

I will get the total grain weight tomorrow but it's over 650 grains I know that.

I shot 3 fletched and three unfletched yesterday at 10-25-30 yards and they are grouping together.

Think I gotter.

I am going to stick with carbons for now until after spring bear hunting and then I will play som more with the woods.

That's it

Glad to hear you got her Jerry.  Just so you know your bow probably has a 8 strand 450+ string on her.  That is the only string material Ron uses on his bow.

He uses 6 and 8 strand.  On the heavier bows he uses 8 strand.  Most of mine are mid to upper 50's in draw weight and they have 8 strand on them.
