wow that was pretty cool.how much wear and tear does it put on your broadheads as far as keepin em sharp and how abrasive is the sand on your carbon shafts

I used fine masonry sand. As for the carbon arrows, I have the camo Easton Axis shafts, & the camo film will protect the shafts. As for the broadheads, when I settle on a new hunting broad head, I'm just going to devote 1 or 2 to shoot into the sand. I prefer to mainly practice with broads, which is the reason for the project. It should prove to be cost effective, over time.

Cool and it will work great!  Is that the door to your house right behind it?  Coach

Great idea. I like it.  It will be interesting to see how the sand treats your BHs.  I have used sand and black dirt for target stops and find that sand - sands the heads down quickly while black dirt is easier on them.

I would move its location though, that house behind there looks a little close.

Thanks for sharing.

The trailer behind has been empty for years, no problems there noone is ever back there, but I'm still careful. The door to the right is to my man cave, a small two story building on our property,  my wife let me have. Check it out.

Just wondering how you decided on the stain-color and how you finished it after you put the sand in it??  :bigsmyl:

Seriously- nothing wrong with that.  Very nice.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Yep, that color makes it look like a seriously deformed picnic table. I saw this gallon of Thompson's deck weather protector on clearance for $5, so i figured it might help further protect the wood. Now it hurts my eyes to look at it.   :biglaugh:
