Did I get lucky with carbon arrows

I bought some CE150 Heritage arrows to try. I have been shooting GT55/75 at 29.5" long with 225 up front. I shoot 48# @ 28" and the GT arrows fly perfect. I started out with the CE150's @ 30" with 175 up front and was ready to get three set up bare and 3 fletched but I had to go shoot the first one to see what happened. Went out back and shot the first few times at 15 yards and hit in a 3" bullseye each time and the arrow was straight on just tail high. I could do this back to thirty yards. Did I get lucky and get the right combo first try or should I continue? What about the arrow nock high? I was planning on going through OL's tuning procedure but if it hits the bullseye and is straight what more do I need? This total arrow weight is within 5 grains of what I have been shooting so the trajectory is the same.

Sounds like you did get lucky! A little tail high is good. You might want to try the arrow with a broadhead if you plan to hunt...

I find it interesting at 48 lbs. of draw weight you were able to get the 5575's to fly. Thought they would have been too stiff for you. Thats a good thing though because they weigh more.

Yea, those GT 55/75 shoot great with 100 gr brass insert and 125gr point and cut to 29.5". They bareshaft the same. I just wanted to try the Heritage shafts because I know alot of people like them and I like the wood grain finish. I had to play around with the GT a bit to find the right combo of length and point weight.

i wish i had some of that luck. in the process of going to carbons and its been a lot more difficult that tuning alum everything seems weak always even when i start at what would be way weak full length with weight and work to go stiff. Enjoy it may not happen again.

I've have Gold Tip 3555's and now am shooting the 3 rivers Traditional only's in the 500 spine. I've never had any trouble tuning either. Also I shoot them all out of 3 different bows with various size heads with perfect flight. Not sure why folks have trouble with them. I must be living right.
