carbon tuning question

Ok so I did my part to stimulate the economy and bought some CE Heritage 350s, 100gr inserts and some Grizzlys.  When bare shaft tuning do you guys use hot melt glue to hold the inserts in while you find the right length then epoxy or  epoxy them in and trim from the nock end?
The bow specs are #53@28" ACS and my 29.5" draw puts the draw weight around #57.

you can do it either way.
some guys use a thin sheet of plastic around the adapter and friction fit it to do their testing.
i use the hot melt, this is what i use on all my shafts anyway. the nice thing about it, is if you want to index your broadhead blades to sit a certain way, you just need to heat it a bit and rotate where you want it.
I even stump shoot with inserts mounted with the hot melt and have never had a problem, but i do use a 1/2" alum footing behind the inserts, makes a huge differance.

Like mentioned above take a small thin piece of plastic and put it around the bottom o=f the insert then push it in if its too loose go thicker.  put in a field point and leave it in to pull out with pliers to make the adjustments.  a lot faster than any other way and you can get it tight enough that pulling out in a target is not an issue.

Nathan I bought it used on the classifieds here but it is in great shape and shoots an arrow with authority!  All of the woodies and aluminums I had were too weak to fly great.  Some of the woodies fly good but not great so I thought I would try carbons since I had to get more arrows anyway.  There is just something alluring about having 250-300 grains up front...!

I'll call you this week about maybe doing some shooting this saturday.
