I had a great time at P & Y in Denver this past weekend. Amoung many highlights, I spoke with Fred at the Compton's booth. Fred is an icon in our sport and I am proud to have been in his presence many times in the past 2 years and enjoyed conversation with him. The shooting clinic at BW, the longbow shoot in Michigan, the Michigan traditonal show in Jan. 2008, Compton's at Beirren Springs, to name a few. In Denver, I bought a traditional archives book and it is fantastic. Get a copy if you don't have one and just read the neat stories form our traditional commrades. I would hope any BW shooters out there who are not members of P & Y and Compton's will consider joining us. Our sport needs people who are committed long term to the preservation of hunting as the anti's fight to stop hunting will have an effect on more than just hunters. It affects our manufacturers like BW, our arrow components/shafts manufactures, you name it, it is potentially going to be affected if we don't get more folks to help pull the wagon for our archery and bowhunting future. Fred makes us all proud with his accomplishments in the field and out of the field. And so my question, Fred, can you see a day in the future coming when we could have a convention like we had in Denver, a first class event with just traditional guys?- complete with the outitters, the wildlife display, the banquets, the auctions, the seminars, not to mention that replica of Fred and Glen's Little Delta log cabin scene - ABSOLUTLEY MAGNIFICINT! It was so cool to be among bowhunters all weekend but perosnally for me, the ultimate would be a weekend of just us traditional guys. Please let me know Fred if you have a similiar dream, what can I do to join you in making this vision come to pass? I am ready to serve, sir.
