regular useage?

So do you guys tend to get little scratches and other marks on your bows from regular useage? I am careful with mine , but recently noticed a few minor ones , barely visble but I notice them. I see my bow as a tool and I like to use it , I know it ain't gonna stay in mint condition!! So how do you deal with it, it makes me kinda feel bad, that it gets like that! Oh well what do ya do?   :rolleyes:

If you just leave it hangin on the wall it won't get scratched.

Absolutely. If you use the equipment it's just gonna happen..HOWEVER when I pay attention I try to handle it with kit gloves.  I always Place them and hang them up very carefully, treat it as if it were made of crystal..
Most  Trad gear is very tough and durable and can get the abuse.  But do your best to keep it pretty...

My hunting equipment.....ALL of it...is simply an assortment of tools.  That's how I use them.

I take care of my tools, but I won't baby them (at all).  I've got a new RER coming....and it'll go through the ringer, this fall.  When this season's over....she'll show her battle scars, proudly.

It's just like on a new truck, the first one hurts really bad. Like stated above, if you use them in the field they are going to get dings now and then.

I appreciate a PURRRRRTTTTEE bow as much as the next guy, but what I like a whole lot better is one that has the dings,scracthes, anD marks of usage.  Gives em character. -validates that they have been out there doing what they're ment to do.  There are show dogs, and there are Hunt'n dogs--  I'll take the  Hunt'n dog everytime.  Puurrrtty is for wall hanging, or gentile Sunday afternoons casting arrows on a freshly mowed lawn and sipping tea.  Not that theres anything wrong w/ that. Iam probably in a minority here, but I've got to say-- I like the looks of bow that has clearly stood the test of time and usage in the field-- gives it soul- validates it.--You just know, its been places and done things, it has history, it has character, it has life. No doubt, there are others that see it likewise, but probably are a minority.  Only you can decide what gives you the most satisfaction-- no one really cares what your bow looks like but you. Alot of people would be horrified by the looks of most of my bows, and thats fine, to me they look like experienced hunting dogs, old friends/and memories. Its a personal thing-- and you'll make your choices likewise.

I kind of compare bows to guitars. I mean everybody loves a cherry looking guitar but on the other hand if it's a player, you want it to have some mojo, and you want it to show it. Some people make a good living actualy making guitars look that way. It's called relicing. So to me a good huntin bow that has some battle scars is just "reliced".
