Earlier this week I asked for some input regarding fletching/nock combinations for some arrows I was putting together. Several asked for pictures. So first of all, I got together some of my more recent combos and took a couple pictures.
As you can see, I like 5" shield four-fletched, usually in a bright color or at least with a bright splice at the rear. The unfletched arrows in the second photo are the old 1920 Gamegetters with the Snakeskin wraps applied.
I don't have enough barred feathers on hand, and don't have the time right now to get to work on any wild turkey quills I've got saved up, so finally decided to go with black fletch with a white splice toward the rear for visibility in flight. Didn't have enough white nocks either, and the black ones look pretty good, so decided to go with that this time around. The first picture below is with flash (these are reflective wraps) and the second is without.
It'll be awhile before I get the whole batch done with there being four feathers and the splicing and all, but thought I'd share with you folks the early results. Ron Newman (Stickbow98) should be commended on the design of these copperhead wraps. I cut off the white TradGang portion to serve as partial wraps on other arrows.
