Hey CO Elk Hunters...you need a hunting buddy? :D
« on: May 03, 2009, 09:47:00 PM »
Hey guys,
So, the time has come for me to switch my hunting spot.    :help:   I've struck out the last 4 years and I'm sick of it. Problem is that it seems the elk and mulies have moved on.   :notworthy:    :D

I should have mentioned that I'm willin to drive a couple to three hours for a shot at a decent elk. It doesn't have to be a bull, any elk is a good elk at this point.  :D

I would LOVE a hunting partner.       Im currently in Iraq, but should be home late August. I struck out the last few years as well.

Im also based out of the Springs, and when not deployed I spend alot of time at the Academy sharpening my skills. Im willing to drive about the same distances. Let me know.......   :goldtooth:

I hunt in a draw area north of Cotipaxi, it's a couple hour drive from the Springs. We are a pretty laid back bunch, mostly confounds. Since the deadline has already past maybe we can do some stumping or something. I am still trying to get out after some turkeys before the season ends. I also just started shooting on a Trad only 3D league if that intrests you. Send me a PM iff any of this sound good.

Casey - I'd love to share a campfire with ya..thanks for all you do. Soon as I find a good spot we'll go...

Stickhorse - You guys see alot of elk and deer throughout the season?

NewTo - Thanks for the offer. I know someone who has hunted Cotipaxi. Are there ever any leftover tags? I'd be interested in hunting down there too. You guys see alot of elk?

Thanks guys!

Also like to hunt solo. Partners & I pack in base camp- go different ways before sunrise. meet back at camp at dark. also nice to have extra help when needed. seems to work for me.

Bingo. I'm just lookin for a couple of guys that know some country that at least HOLDS some elk and deer and can help point me in the right direction. It's nice to have some help packing an animal out and sharing a campfire with. I don't mind hunting alone, but it is frustrating hoofing it around and not seeing any game in unfamiliar country.
If anyone wants to at least share a camp in good elk country, I'm game to hunt alone. Let me know.

Thanks guys
