Well it was a good spring 2009 turkey season I was lucky enough to bag two Jakes with Trad gear over the past month. I also "guided" several good friends and family they all bagged big longbeards with archery gear which it was fun to watch plus get invited over for turkey dinner afterwards at their house
.I bagged my first bird early April it was cold, windy and dry. My last bird first of May and it looks like a different world out there warm, wet, ticks and flying insects everywhere! I missed a big tom with my Morrison Cheyenne(sorry Bob) he caught me drawing and I rushed the shot I guess TOM FEVER got me but it happens and I am sure it will happen again in the future. I used my 47lb BW Recurve and 52lb Centaur double carbon both with Ad Lites and 200gr Abowyer two blades up front 530gr total arrow weight and had pass throughs on both birds. Shot placement was in the back arrow exited the chest one bird down in 5 yards the other ran about 50 yards and piled up. Now I have to wait till fall season for another chance at a turkey hopefully fall will get here fast. I hate summer but my wife likes seeing me for a few months so I guess its Ok.
