Need pics of leather armguards and quivers
« on: May 11, 2009, 07:40:00 PM »
I bought some plans from tandy leather for various archery projects but want to see some pics of finished arm guards and broadhead quivers mad of leather. I like the GFA design. Anything that I can carry over my shoulder.
Thanks in advancec.

Hey Jim,

If you're looking for leather, give EC Leather a shot as well. The address is 1924 E. 6th St in Tulsa.   I get my leather out of their scrap pile to make my hip quivers with. They have some patterns for archery stuff up by the counter, and all sorts of tooling and even snake skins, too.

Mid continent in Coweta has a good selection too. Their snake skin was through the roof though. $70.00+ for a single skin!

There was a clearance box though that had light brown and solid white snake skin too.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Here is a pic of a quiver I made for my son's birthday a few months ago. I got the pattern from the how to forum that Rob posted! The instructions are very detailed which made the build very easy! This was my first attempt at leather craft!

Wow Killdeer! That is one of the most beautiful pieces of work I have ever seen!

Cool quiver Joe. I bet he loves it! Are those claws on it? I saw some resin cast imitations at hat shop too. I thought the smaller ones would make great string buttons on an arm guard.

Me too, Jim. I tried my best to grow my arm out to fit it, but I am too old, I guess.
Dammit.
