Well guys, about 7 weeks after rotator cup surgery, I am back shooting again, low poundage, but it is great!!!! I did exactly what the Dr. and PT therapist had said to do, exercised 5-6 times a day, lots of water and vitamins. Doc says I am a month ahead of the curve, ok's light shooting, still not lifting anything heavy. I walked out to my range, stopped about18 yards, concentrated, came to anchor and pulled through and watched my first arrow hit the 3" spot on my target! I shot four more and ended up with 3 in, two within an inch on either side. I felt really good, took my time and shot 10 more shots, making sure to make each shot count, and did really well. I have been coachin each week with the 4H kids while I have been rehabing and beating the basics into my own skull as well, and after the lay off I am shooting as well as ever. My last 10 shots today, 20-25 yds had 9 in or touching the 3" circle, 1 about 2 inches high. I am slowing down, being carful not to hurt myself and just working through the shot better than ever. I didnt realize how big a part of my life trad archery had become, and have missed it sorely. A buddy of mine and me are talking about going to cloverdale for a couple of days to celebrate. Well, I am done rattling on just glad to be active in archery again!
