Does this sound right??? Arrows?

I have a friend that has a recurve that is 56#@30", cut to 1/16", fast flight string. He is wanting some Carbon Express Heritage 350s. I came up with the following:
CE 350 30.5"bop, 270gr. tips
CE 350 31" bop, 250gr. tips
What do you think? He wanted more tip weight. But because of the length of his draw it seems 270gr. is max.

Any carbon guys? What do you think? I'm not use to figuring arrows for this length of draw.

I have those same carbons for practice, I bought them on sale, and I have busted 7 so far about 6 inches up from the insert...POS IMHO...I am going back to aluminum XX75's....if he wants more tip weight, tell him to put a heavy insert in the shaft.

There is absolutely NO WAY aluminum arrows would stand up to the kind of abuse I've put my CX Heritage arrows through.
That sounds like an ass load of spine (350's), but I guess that much tip weight could overcome it (at his DW).

The 350's will more than likly be to stiff. The 250's will be a better choice as long as you leave them that long and use the heavy wts.

I thought with the longer shaft the spine would be less. Plus he wants more tip weight.

350s way too stiff you can go 30" with cx250s and run 100gr inserts and probably 200 gr points for a total of 300 gr up front ,, But before you do anything bare shaft tune then you Know

Guys, I shoot 250s with 225gr upfront out of my 55#@28" recurve. I would think with his draw length he could handle more spine and tip weight. He'll be shooting about an inch longer arrow than me also.

Your buddy is gonna be borderline between 350's and 250's, much closer to the 250's. I shoot 56lbs recurve 30" arrow with the CX 250's, about 200 grains up front. I think he'll need a lot more weight than that up front to shoot 350's. I'd say get a shaft of each size and try them because every shooter/bow combination is a little different. That's the only way to know what works for your rig.

Snag,
If you use spine - .400 or .500 instead of CE Heritage 350 more people would be able to respond to your question.

You're right, Bowmania....sorry, getting a little frustrated with this. Just trying to help him out. I know I can get the 250s to work for him. But he was talking about loading the tip up with 300+gr.

I tried the 350"s out of my 62" recurve with 100gr. inserts and 150 gr. head and cut @ 30" bop.
They were still too stiff. they flew OK, but were not forgiving of the sightest error.
I went to the 250"s cut 28-29", with same 250gr. up front and WOW! What a difference! Very nice shooting and more forgiving. Still get a 605 gr. arrow.

A lot depends on how far past center the bow is cut. I shoot BW bows around 60# and they require the CX350 arrows. Other bows I have which are not cut as far take the CX 250's. As we all know, tuning can be accomplished by adding weight up front but it can also be done also by adjusting the center shot.
