Praise for KME
« on: May 22, 2009, 06:58:00 PM »
Hi guys,

A number of you were kind enough to advise me on a good sharpening system. I went with the KME and I am very happy with it. More importantly I just wanted to praise Ron for his exceptional customer service! I decided to give him a call just to check on a couple of points and he was just a great guy to talk to. I had to laugh when I asked him to include some extra honing oil and he just said: "Nah! Don't waste your money! What I send ya will last a long time!" I've talked to too many salesmen who want to sell you what you "need" but never use. Anyway, the whole purchase and sale was a very pleasant experience and I really do believe that Ron was sincere when he said I could call him anytime for any sharpening questions even if he didn't involve the KME!

AND..if you are sharpening challenged...take Ron up on his sharpening services.

I 'heard' about it...and so I wanted to know even though I sharpen my own heads, and I highly recommend his services if you want to receive 'sharp out of the package'.  He also coats them with the plastic/rubber coating so you can peel and hunt. I suggest you mount them with the coating on.

Well I see that if a guy takes a couple days off, he's likely to catch people talking about him when he gets back!!!  :D

Thank you all very much!

I have a great Ron story...   Several weeks ago I mentioned on a different thread that I was having some issues sharpening Abowyer heads with my KME knife sharpener.   BTW:  Both products are great.  It was me and I knew it.  My comments were because I was trying to figure it out.

Well Ron saw the thread, sent me a PM, and then called me.  Yeah called me on his own dime before I could respond to his message.

I couldn't believe it and told him it was not necessary, but he said it wasn't a problem and was happy to help.  Well long-story-shorter, 15 minutes on the phone and I was shaving hair off my arm with the boneheads.

Great guy - great product and deserves the accolades.  He knows his stuff and can teach.  That is a special combo.

I ordered some Tusker Concords from Ron a while back and am not disappointed. Single bevel and tanto tipped....WOW sharp! Shot one clean through this bear a couple nights ago with 50 lbs.
