Lightest broadhead?
« on: May 25, 2009, 06:44:00 PM »
I'm gearing up to go to a broadhead shoot.  As many of you know, I'm shooting very light bows.  My aluminums are too small to accept screw in inserts, so they're out.  I have some 5/16 shafts spined 25 to 29 pounds and some spined 30 - 34. I'm pretty sure I can make them work if I can get a light broadhead.   What's the lightest broadhead available and what's a source to get 'em?

Magnus makes an 85 grain glue on in 5/16".  They are the same head they use to make the 100 grain traditional screw ins.

I'm not aware of anything lighter that is currently in production.  I'm not sure who has the 85's, but you'll probably find them on the sponsor's list somewhere (I did not see them on 3R).  We have the 100 gr screw ins if you need to go with those and pull the inserts.

Hope this helps, Tim

Zwickey Black Diamonds are 115 gr in the glue on.

Del-Ma archery makes a realy light 1/4" broadhead.  Couldn't remember the weight but it was light.  dino

Thanks, guys.   I took a look at that 85gr. Magnus.  Should be good.  I emailed the company to see if I can get some direct or if they can tell me who actually carries them... not 3R or Lanaster, as noted.
