Question for grizzlystiks experts
« on: May 26, 2009, 06:47:00 PM »
I can't get the bare Alaskans to fly straight into the target. the bare shafts always come in underspined. I cut my arrows as short as I could, actually shorter than my draw length, and they still fly weak with 200gr broadhead & 75gr factory insert. I need that much weight to get up to 630gr arrow out of my 62# R/D longbow.
should I have bought the Safaris instead? Are the Safaris stiffer? do I even need to bareshaft GrStyks?
thank you.

I'm shooting 29.5" Alaskans with the 75gr brass insert out of my 62# Shawnee with Dakota limbs. They did not bareshaft as well as I would have liked but once I added 3 - 5" feathers and 300grs up front they now fly like darts.

I am like huntit, I could never get tapered shafts to bare shaft good. Grizzly Stiks or Arrow Dynamic's.  Have you tried fletching them up and see how they fly?  I hope you didn't cut all of the arrows shorter than your draw length.  If showing underspined you can try building out your strike plate first before cutting the shafts.  The Alaskans should fly great from your bow.
