I went to shoot today at 9:30am and was moving back to 30yrds when I found this.
Never saw or heard mama, but I'm sure she is close by.

Reminds me of a two year-old holding both hands over it's eyes and saying, "YOU CAN'T SEE ME!"
Had the same experience while mushroom hunting in early May. I am guessing it was born that very day, and was an early season birth. It was beautiful, amazing, and very, VERY still!
What a privilege, and thanks for sharing it.

I almost stepped on a deer fawn up at are cabin last week. It was curled up by a large oak tree. It was nice to see as I had not seen a fawn that young in several years. Great pics. thanks for sharing.

I've always wanted to see one of those in reality. Haven't stumbled upon one yet. Thanks for the photos.

Good pictures Brian they are cute little critters.
I have fawn story too with a happy ending.
I passed over one on the tractor last week while mowing a food plot. I was trying to watch for possible fawns in the field when I spotted one at the front axle of the tractor. I engaged the clutch and hit the brakes and the fawn jumped up and passed in front of the right back tire just as the wheel made its final bit of rotation. The fawn got penned between the ground and the tire and I was cussing myself something fierce! Poor little guy was bawling for mom. I put the tractor in reverse and eased back and the little dude jumped up and ran about 20’ and laid down.
Needless to say I was a little shook-up and apprehensive to go look at what I might find but upon examination the fawn turned out to be just fine, a little shook-up but no worse for wear. Before I continued mowing I coaxed it out of the field and walked the area looking for a possible twin. No twin in the area it was a lone fawn.

Wow thats awesome! Makes me want to go out in the woods. I hope I'm lucky enough to see one. Last year I got one to walk up to with in arms reach of me. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life.
