interesting replys. as i have small hands when i took the leather of the Shrew it did fit alot better with the even now smaller grip. also as posted above i do like the leather grip on classic D shaped longbows and it does help me better grip them.
WOW you fellers are some fine shootes, GNATS, holy cow i would struggle with a big babboon bent over scratching his toes!!!!!!!!

Don't like to cover up the beautiful wood I just paid good money for.

On the bows I've hunted so far I prefer no leather.I do have a shrew that has the leather on her but since she's #12 I won't be taking her hunting to often if at all and the leather will stay put.She may go hunting on a nice day in a friendly setting but not in the swamp

Leather on the Hill longbow, but removed the rubber grip from the Widow longbow last year. Leather and wood look great, but from now-on I'd rather not have rubber for some reason.

I have not used any type of grip wrap until my two latest bows arrived. They have very small grips. I have very large hands. I wrapped the grip with the ultra-traditional tennis racket grip wrap. It was the only thing I had at the time. All is well so far. I think I'll keep it on for awhile.
