Strike Plate wear?

I am see some wear on my strike plate. It ls the shape of the arrow wearing into the plate. Is this normal? Thanks for any help.

If it happens quickly you should check your spine weight. It might be too stiff.

All my bows showed strike wear pretty quickly back when I was starting out.  I then learned about tuning (O.L.'s web page) and realized I was almost always overspined.
