I have a loaner bow that is a Black Rose longbow.
This bow was made in 2002 and it is 36#@28".
The bow is in great shape and it isn't mine. I want to twist up a new string for it because I always like having an idea of how many arrows have been shot on a string.
The string that is on it appears to be a B-50 string. I shoot fast flight or similar strings on all of my longbows and this being a light weight bow, I would like to shoot FF on this bow.
I am not sure if Black Rose out of Fort Wayne, IN. is still around, but I can't find any info on the web.
The bow is built well, the fadeouts look good as do the glue lines. If it was mine, I would twist up a string and not look back. I would like to get in touch with the bowyer and see what he says.
It's a slight R/D bow and I think the bow would take it.
I am going to send an e-mail to the friend that loaned me the bow and see what he says and if he knows if FF is recommended for use with this bow.
I just wondered if any of you guys have Black Rose bows and if you have shot FF on them.
Thanks!!
p.s. I can finally pull a bow after my shoulder surgery and I am wanting to get out and shoot in a bad way.
