Carbons for my 50# longbow

Ok i did some searching on here about this but im still lost.
Since i went to shooting trad/prim ive always used poc or cane for my arrow shafts well i wanted to try some carbons. I went to the local archery shop yesterday and picked up some .500 Benman arrows. They weighed in at 402 grains with a 31" length 22 grain insert and 125 grain field tip. My bow is a Ash longbow in the Cherokee style. It has no shelf and is tillered at 30" pulling 50#. My draw is 30" by the way.
I wanted to pick up some speed out to 20 yards because the shots taken at 20 yards with my poc arrows were real slow at this range. The carbons really helped ,because they are much faster because of the lighter weight im sure and my goups pulled in much closer shooting carbons. What i want to know is 8gpp ok for this bow. I dont want to hurt the bow so is an arrow this light going to damage my bow and is the spine right? They fly real good.
Thanks Matt

If they fly real good then you answered your own question about the spine. As far as that being a safe weight for the bow only time will tell. Is the bow shocky on the shot, loud or any other noticeable changes in the fell of it? Is it all wood? Did you make it or did someone else? If you bought it, ask the bowyer their thoughts on it.

Hey
It is all wood solid ash. There is a little hand shock now and its a little louder but the bow was so quiet before and had no hand shock before that it could only get worse. lol Its still a very good shooting bow. Is it common for people to shoot 8 gpp with carbon on here?

On glass and carbon bows. All natural bows 10 is usually the starting point but like in all things it varies.
