Horne bows customer service

I took a Horne Combo hunter in trade from one of my customers. I had in the store 6-8 months finally sold it to another customer through the mail. After receiving it he called me and asked about the crack\\check in one of the limbs. WOW I missed that one, he returned it I gave him a full refund including shipping. He was dissapointed as its a knock out looker, and so was I! I called Mark and told him I was shipping it back, and for him to look it over. He called me back after receiving it, said it was a drying check in the limb. No problem he would get her fixed up proper. But then he asked about the crack in the riser? What they's a crack in the riser, I replyed. Ya there was, from the limb bolt being screwed in to tight, which will crack your riser when it bottoms out. SO DON'T DO THAT!
I'm not sure Mark was obligated to repair this at NO CHARGE, but he did. And I thank him, and I will always remember. He fixed a second hand bow he built, repaired a problem from misuse. And was as usually, his friendly helpful self. I don't think you will get any better anywhere.

PS If you run over your bow with your truck, you may not be so lucky! Then again

Oh yeah, he did mess up one thing and just my luck. He made it RH, otherwise I'd own that sweety!  :readit:

I had bought one of Mark's bows a mountain t/d from a bow shop and learned to shoot it. Last year while hunting I had taken a stumble and accidently steped on one of the limbs, causing the laminations to come apart. I called Mark and explained to him that I am the 3rd owner of this bow and described the accident. He had me ship him the bow so he could return it to shooting condition for me. He even offered to loan me another bow to hunt with while mine was in the body shop. Mark had my bow back in my hands in a couple weeks with a new set of limbs. Mark and Sandy are first class folks. One day I hope to meet them and shake their hands.

I have had my eye on his 3pc Longbow for a while and comments such as these only help to make my mind up.

You won't find a better bowyer or finer folks than the Hornes. It was a sincere pleasure to finally meet him at the Sweat.

Now I just have to get him to make a Ridge Runner with longbow limbs. Any chance they are a idea Mark? As I like the recruve grip, and longbow limbs!!!!

Met Mark on one of Curtis' places hog huntin. Mark is truly a class act, not just when it comes to archery and hunting, but just in general. He is the kinda guy that you just can't help but like. Just a genuine fella that made this trad "greenie" feel like his equal...errr..uummm except for the shootin part!!heehe lol. The guy has a tendency smoke a hog or two now boys!

We need more guys like Mark to mentor and help up and comers in Trad-bowhunting!  :thumbsup:

No I have not, Faith and Hope where in camp with us at Texas Sweat. Meant to have a dance with her. Just messed up and did not, sorry for that one. Another one of my mistakes! I think part of it was, had I started to have a affair. I would have wanted to take her hunting. And as rugged and rocky as it was. I was afraid to contemplate anything happen to her in my care. Or carelessness! I did admire though.

I live close enough to the Horne's that I am lucky and get to deal with them in person. I am just recently getting back into trad archery. I went into the shop after another shop owner told me that was the place to go seeing how he only had a few trad bows one of which was a Horne. I told Mark what I thought I wanted, he grabbed some bows and we went outside to shoot. After watching he said he would build whatever I wanted then he told me what I needed. This man knows bows and people. I told him that he was the pro, build me what I needed. The bow is perfect for me, fits like a glove. He has even let me take his personal Brush bow home to try a couple of days, this shows that he is also a good salesman, that will be my next bow. The Horne's are wonderful people. Now I drive past 2 archery shops and a Cabelas just to buy knocks. Their service can't be beat. Mark and Sandy, Thank You For all of your help.

Mark is a true gentleman.  I sure enjoyed meeting him at the sweat.  He's also a great shot!  Thanks for all the help Mark.

Here is a good one for you, I'm sure it resembles more than one of us. Just what it was we where thinking?
Today the guy that had this bow made stoped by into the store. I shoot with him when ever we can he has the bug like so many of us. We talked about my trip to Texas and the Sweat hunt. And about a Trad 3D league starting in May. I had a phone call or something. He wandered in to the Trad bows in the store. Picked up his Horne Combo Hunter admired it. And said I'm sorry I got rid of this bow knowing what I know now. Then wanted to know if I had some arrows so he could shoot it again. Just so happens I go and usually am no where with out above. He went to the downstairs range, I check up on him. And yup here we go again, he is buying it back again! Some times we make mistakes and have regrets. Its not very ofen we get to redeem ourselves and have back what we gave away\\traded away.

So there is more than one happy ending at the end of the rainbow.
