N/R tag is 530.00 if I remember right. I have never hunted in that area but I have heard it is very good.I was supposed to make a trip there but it did not work out. I would go for it if the chance came up.

NR tags are $546 for an either sex tag.  I think the area of the Flat Tops out of Meeker are draw units.

I think Trappers Lake area is in unit 12 or 24, both of which are draw units for archery.  The Flat Tops/White River herd is one of the largest in the State from what I remember.  It does draw hunters of course, but at least the wilderness area will limit the ATV's.

I have hunted the Trappers Lake Area a couple times.  There are elk there but there are a lot of hunters too.  It is a draw area and used to take 1 preference point.  It is really a beautiful area but for me there were too many other people.  You have a better than average chance at an elk though.  We got within 70 yards of a nice 5x5 one year.  My buddy took a selfbow cow that same year.  One thing we found is that we couldn't count on the "get 4 miles in and get away from the crowds" philosophy as there are outfitters, horseback riders and other hunters all around.  The best hunting we got into was 2 miles from the road.
Take a kid hunting!
