Hey Dave,
Lucky? Yes kinda,I can cut a whole bunch of different wood here in Ca. but,

You live in Australia where the,
Fine for cutting down tree's is: $4K (silly)

Getting to shoot any non native species with your bow, any season: Priceless (not so silly)

What wood are you going with 1st?

well guys so far i have made a few piramid bows up to 40 lbs using Silver top ash and a few english longbows up to 55lbs using Spotted gum and black butt (both euceliptus) and boo bellys with various aussie hardwood powerlams mostly jarrah and tas. blackwood. here in aus we can buy slabs of hickory but the price would make you cry, that being said we also dont have any Yew and VERY rairly somone will find an osage tree and chances of it being bow quality are low....

I would think being so close to places like Java you'd have access to some pretty exotic woods for less than what we pay for them here (California)...

Anyway, welcome!

Dave,  $4000.00  for cutting down a tree            Now I like you fella's over there  Especially after watchin " Crocadile Dundee" but you guy's need to smartin up cause here in America we Rednecks ain't all that dumb as we looks...Have you thought of accidently running off the road and slammin the truck into one? No cuttin the tree's done that a way....      :goldtooth:     P.s. Forgot to mention Welcome and "Lots of good infomation here" and make sure your insurance on your truck is paid up before attemting the tree smashing...God Bless, Keefer's <")))><
