It's gettin dark. Bareshaft help please.
« on: July 11, 2009, 09:28:00 PM »
I'm at 30 1/2 with a grizzlystik amd hittin darn close. The nock is always to the left even with the tip slightly low right. The arrow is going in at an angle. What does this mean?

I don't go by my nock position when bareshafting. I go by where my bareshaft arrows group in relation to my fletched arrows. Click on this link:    http://bowmaker.net/index2.htm
And then click on "bow tuning".

Read it thoroughly and heed the advice. It is a long read, but in my opinion, it's gospel.

What ishoot4 says. I also use Stu Millers dynamic spine calculator to get me in the ball park fast.

The adcock method works better than anything I have used.  If you are close just throw some broadheads on some fletched shafts and some feild points on some fletched shafts and check how they group.  If you can group out to 30 yards your good.  If you are like me and can't group arrows anyway then you will have a hard time.  :goldtooth:

Garlin, the link I posted is Adcock's method of tuning that "HATCHCHASER" refers to. It really is a must read!

I read all of it. Had to work today but still had time to get 3 arrows all fletched up. I'll start tomorrow night.     :readit:

I had an earlier thread about bareshafting and just wanted to say thanks for all the help. Then and now.
