Alaska Info Needed
« on: July 12, 2009, 09:05:00 AM »
My oldest son Patrick is station at Ft. Wainwright Alaska. He’s still in processing. He wants to get hooked up with some traditional archers near or on post. Patrick just bought a Dakota Pro Longbow with 2 sets of limbs at Compton’s Traditional Archery Rendezvous last month and he’s anxious to start shooting, when he’s not fishing.
Any help, information or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Bob,  I spent 20 years as a member of the Air National Guard at Eielson AFB near Faibanks.  There is an Archery club there (Fairbanks) called "Golden North Archery Association."  I left there in 2006 so things may have changed but they are a typical club with many of the wheels crowd but there is a contingent of Trad shooters too.  They have(had) a nice field course and place to set up 3-d shoots.  Wainwright and Eielson both had archery clubs too.  He shouldn't have too much trouble to get hooked up.
