Quinn Longhorn??

Evan,Quinn makes a good solid bow,they shoot well and there is enough mass in the riser to prevent hand shock.-----------Bone

Quinn makes some of the best bows you can get in that price range. Beautifully made and great shooters.

I have a lefty Quinn Longhorn and do not feel even the slightest hint of hand shock. Excellent bows from great people!

Although I don't own one, I have shot a couple and they are indeed the best value for the $ on the market.

Never had the pleasure of shooting a Longhorn. But have had a Stallion and getting another soon. The Stallion is a rare breed - a combination of good shooting characteristics, durability and economy.

I had a Quinn Longhorn for about two years now. Was shooting it just last night! Performance is very good for the price.

I'd give the workmanship of the limbs an A+. However, I'd only give the riser a C. Quinn doesn't spend near enough time shaping the handle portion in my opinion. Very blocky and fat - like holding a 2x2 board. Also the shelf is about a 1/2" thick and high above your hand.

Fortunately there's plenty of actionwood in the handle to work with. I shaped mine to my liking with a fine microplane (you can buy it at Woodcraft - it's an awesome tool) and now it fits my hand just great now! I lowered the shelf about 3/8" too.

Unfortunately I didn't take any "before and after" photos, and I'm not sure you would really be able to see much of a difference in a photo anyway. Basically, the front of the riser where your fingers go still had corners on it, so I rounded the front. The palm area was very fat, so I thinned that down. It was also very fat where my thumb was, so I grooved that area.

Keep in mind I have small-to-medium sized hands. If you have large hands I don't don't think you'll mind the riser much as is, except for maybe the squarish front.
