Looking for a new longbow, any suggestions
« on: July 16, 2009, 04:08:00 PM »
I am looking to try shooting a Longbow, don't want to go crazy spending money for the bow right now. SO I have been looking at the Longbows from Ragim, and Martin. Any suggestions and thoughts are welcome.

I'ver heard the Savannah is a good shooter and easy on the pocket.  Check the Classifieds.  There are some bargains now with the soft econoomy and all.

Good luck.

Can't go wrong with a Bear Montana. As suggested, check the Classifieds as these bows popup in the 45# range and are very reliable.

Check out the Holm-Made bows for great bows at very reasonable prices. Look in the sponsor list.

MOHAWK. You can get a Custom for a great price that's easier to shoot than the ones you mentioned.

My wife has a Hornes brush bow. It is a longbow with a semipistol grip on it,and she likes very much. She tried hill style but they hit her arm and left bruises, and this does not happen with the Hornes. They sell for around 500.00, and you can get the weight you want.

You can find a used Savannah at pretty good prices. And I feel they are a solid shooting longbow.I have two myself a 55# and a 65#,but there are alot of good used longbows.I like their looks of a Savannah with their bubinga riser with zebrawood limbs.

Savannahs are really awesome. I guess it depends on what you want to spend.    ;)     The classifieds are a good place to start.

Maddog would be a good one for you to check out if you don't want to spend too much. Mike has a great reputation and is in the sponsors classifieds.   http://www.maddogarchery.com/

What are you shooting right now? Sorry for all the questions, it's easier to narrow it down to what would work for ya.  :bigsmyl:
Just one more step please!

Lost Creek, Griffen, Dwyer for the price of the Martin you get a custom bow.  Used is a good way to go to find what you like then later go with what you want.
