Are we talking about Canada Goose feathers? If so, I used to pick them up by the hundreds at the local park when the geese would molt -- usually around June. The only problem I had was that I couldn't see them in flight.

I probably live in the Goose capital of the world in the fall time. Buddies of mine are guides and take all the birds to a local cleaner where i have acess to bags of wings.Come this fall I'll try to gather some. Just keep in touch.

I run a shaft through the goose and roast it. Then I sort through the flight feathers while my dinner settles. Broad flat secondarys for fletchings the rest for wings on dry flies.

Jason: If they are legal where you hunt the lumenoks make using goose feathers very practical.
