« on: July 27, 2009, 01:14:00 AM »
i just finished lowering the shelf on my recurve. i was going to refinish it with a marine clear polyurethane but when dry it is dissolved by acetone which i use to remove residue left behind when i replace the self adhesive velco shelf material.

what should i use? where can i get it?
Thick fog slowly lifts
Jagged peaks and hairy beast
Food for soul and body.

Border black douglas recurve 70# and 58# HEX6 BB2 limbs

Clint acetone will desolve some finishes. Most fin's that are 3 parts you would have to mix them ? will not be affected by acetone once cured to hard. However most finishes you do not mix or they would come from one container type finishes ? those are generally desolved by acetone. They do not dry hard enough to prevent the acetone from penatrating the finish. One other thought may be to let the finish dry for around 72 hrs to make sure its cured.bd
