Martin vs Jo Jan fletcher
« on: July 28, 2009, 05:04:00 AM »
hey all this is my first post and was wondering if you could help me out with a decision. I am currently at the point where I am thinking about fletching my own arrows and don't know whether to get the Martin or the Jo Jan fletching jig

If possible please let me know your experiences!
thanks a lot
mike

Been fletching my aluminum shafts for decades with my right wing Jo-Jan Multifletcher. The fletched arrows come out looking great and you can fletch 6 arrows in 1 1/2 hours.

I use the JoJan single and fletching tape.  I have the JJ multi, but as far as I can see, it's only useful if you glue, and once I used tape, I said, "Never again!" to glue.   I have Bitzenberger, but it's just not as simple and fast as the JJ.

I've used both.  The JoJan multi fletcher works fine, as does the single clamp model.  I do like the magnetic clamp though and I've used it for the past five or six years.

I use a jo-jan now, replaced the martin I had with it. I use fletch tape, and can do a dozen arrows in less than an hour. And the Jo-jan will last a lifetime.

I currently use the Martin and it works perfect. The Martin is very light and easy to transport but it is also durable.

I've had Martin, Jojan and Bitz. I wish I had never sold the 3 Martin's I had.

I use tape now so a single jig is all I need. I switched to L wing and got a single Martin and now have 3 RW gathering dust and a Jo Jan 6 that is also RW gathering dust. The martin puts on a fletch that is quieter than the other 2 and in my opinion,  a better buy.

I have never used a Martin but have had a Jo Jan multi for about 25 years now and I love it.

JoJan is a good tool. You might also want too look into Vador which is my favorite.
