You may think I crazy....
If, you have a fabric store in town, stop by and ask about classes they might have.
My mom has been sewing for a long time: she went to a quilting class and met people (men too!) who had started out with a basic class and were currently making money from their sewing....!!!
Just a thought.
Good luck.

Making your own hunting clothes is relatively simple... designing and making them well is not.
You can buy patterns for some decent stuff, but would need to alter them to make them really good for bow hunting (take a look at some high end stuff and military jackets to see how they handle the expansion panels and sleeve attachment angles to avoid binding).
Billy is right on... taking a basic sewing class is going to save you lots of headaches.
Remember: a sewing machine is a power tool too! :D

Contact a primative muzzleloader equipment or clothing supplier through Google. Track of the Wolf comes to mind. They sell patterns for wool coats, capotes, pull over blanket shirts, hats, pants, etc. you can make with wool blankets. Most are handstitched with wool yarn using the simple blanket stitch.

I took a class with my daughter. It was really helpful. Bottom line is I decided I could do it but it is not easy or really even cost effective. Good material is expensive and while you certainly can use blankets and such, in the end, there is a reason wool clothing is so expensive; it is worth it.
But, sewing is a useful skill and I can pretty much make passable versions of a lot of things now. I made an ultralight backpacking tarp and saved about half the cost. It took me a whole weekend though so I would just pay for the next one.

If you are truly primative you have enough hair to not need clothes.
For added concealment I take a few strips of my own skin and tie off my hair to add different patterns.
Also, if you give the kids some of the wife's waxing strips they can make you look like you were born with ASAT in only a few minutes!
Just kidding, but that would be truly hardcore!
I like making my own stuff, but I think for me clothing is something I will let the pro's make for me. Especially for backpack hunting.
Good luck, and post some pics if you get something done!

You might check with Dixie Gun Works. They have a lot of patterns for primative style shirts and pants that shown work. I bought some surplus British wool blankets and dyed them OD and brown and plan on making a shirt similar to Ron LaClairs when I get around to it.

I have purchased a couple of patterns for stuff I want to make. ACtually, my wife does the sewing, but I wouldn't mind being able to fix stuff or tinker with projects myself.
I like making my own stuff, trying it out. I just found a couple of heavy wool blankets in brown that I plan to make a longhunter type pullover with.
I also have a bunch of tanned buckskin that I have a pattern for a shirt, but will make a dry run woth some fabric before I start cutting into that leather. I also need to learn how to hand stitch the leather. I am going to make a buckskin shirt, and possibly pants.
I found my patterns at several sites- here are a few-
