Light weight tripods
« on: August 04, 2009, 09:10:00 PM »
I'm thinking about getting a short tripod for standing corn and other dense treeless areas.  Anyone with any suggestions or comments?  It obviously needs to be quiet and portable.

The last time I was off the ground was around 1974. I have been thinking about getting a Ameristep. They have one that is 10 ft. tall and weights about 40 lbs. The only problem I see is the price. Cheapest I could find is $299.

I know Summit makes one, but I'm sure its pricey also.  Probably should just sit on the ground and save my money.

I think the Summit one is about 6-7 tall. If I remember right, a couple of years ago it went for about $180. Hap
