Dan, tulipwood is a real eye catcher. Another Trad Gang member had a tulipwood bow at a local shoot and it was "Wow"!
Keith, I am really enjoying this bow. It is quiet and stable. I served a strand of tightly wrapped wool around the ends of the string where it meets the limbs and added a small wool silencer about a quarter of the string length from each end. This bow is only 54". The string I made for it is 52". Mike describes it as having "pronounced recurved tips". The brace height is 5 1/2" and I don't notice any stacking. The weight curve during draw feels really good. I shoot this one better than I do my 45# longbow, a combination of the grip design and the added draw weight giving me a cleaner release. It fires a 506 grain GT 5575, with 250 up front, nice and flat. It has taken me three weeks to learn to compensate less for distance. I am starting to have a strange feeling of calm confidence at full draw.
