Introduced son-in-law to a recurve!
«

When my 18 month old grandson comes over to visit he likes "strumming" my bow string and holding an arrow. I think my son-in-law has been watching this and thinking it may be something they could share together some day. Well, I picked up a nice 41#@28" Red Wing Hunter recurve and matched up some woodies to it. I called him up and told him I had this bow I could bring over and let him use. Got there and the grandson was on it from the get go! Took a target out in back. I went over some things with Doug about shooting form, care of the bow, safety, etc. He is standing at 3-5yds and is shooting it like a natural! He started asking if 41# was heavy enough for hunting!!! Oh boy! I think the archery bug bit another one! He said he is going to start getting up 15 minutes earlier to be able to go out and shoot a few arrows.

Wait a sec.. now your going to want to give arrows to him instead of me sponging off of your stash.. I don't know about these young whipper snappers getting into this.
You know I'm kidding. Have to get him ready for "team Savage" for next years Pope and Young shoot.

He's a ways off from qualifying for "Team Savage" Okie. But we'll work on that.

A few months ago I traded off a real nice Brack Quest for two used recurves, arrow supplies, armguards, and gloves. I'll fletch up the arrows and make two backquivers.
I have two son-in-laws that are going to get quite a surprise on Christmas morning!
Boy, do I miss that Brackenbury. It was worth it though to see "my boys" get into trad archery.
