Broadhead angle question...to sharpen?
« on: August 18, 2009, 10:48:00 PM »
I have a couple blue bear Razorheads (145 grain versions) and want to sharpen them up.

What angle on the KME knife would you recommend?

Josh...
I have the KME knife sharpener.  The selected angle is dependent on how you put them in the clamp.  Easiest thing to do is to take a black sharpie and ink up the edges of the BH.  Then using your desired stone lightly run the hone over the edge.  You can adjust the rod guide up or down accordingly till you have the surface of the bevel covered.  Make sense?

Very nice Brian,

Couldn't have said it better myself. Wanta job?  :readit:

Josh, only thing I'd add is to use the stone dry when adjusting/finding the angle so that the oil doesn't "run" the ink. Let us know how you make out,

Ron
