Need plan B option for my September bear hunt…
I ordered some ferrules to make my Razorcaps 150 grains total and the wonderful person on a unnamed auction site had them backordered and didn’t tell me (they were “available” when I ordered). I had to call to find this out.
Anyway to plan B…I’m shooting Easton Axis 400’s with 100 grain inserts/150 grain point to make a total of 250 out front. I have some extra new shafts and I’m going to make 6 with 50 grain inserts and 6 with 125 inserts to give me options.
Option #1…50 grain brass HIT insert with a 160 grain grizzly and 42 grain adaptor.
Option #2…125 grain HIT adaptor (100 grain and the break-off 25 grain piece from the 75/50) with one of these three broadheads.
• 125 grain Stinger 4 blade
• 125 grain Simmons Shark 4 blade
• 125 grain NAP Hellrazor
Option #3…current set-up and one of the below broadheads.
• 150 grain NAP 2 blade (old school two blade)…I have a bunch of these.
• 150 grain Snuffer
I will shoot them all to rule any out that don’t fly well…that being said if they all fly true what would be your first choice. I’m leaning towards Option #2 with either a Stinger or Simmons Shark…both heads are great. I don’t want to spend any more on broadheads…I have way too many to get any more. If you have some ferrules to make Razorcaps 150 grains I’d trade you some handmade Flemish strings.
Thanks,
Josh
