First shots out of BW PTF
« on: August 19, 2009, 07:42:00 PM »
I was sitting around moping about a bow I sold but cannot ship due to high shipping costs overseas when the UPS man came.  He usually comes around 2:00pm.  Today, he came at 6:15pm.  I strung up the bow and took a couple shots with CX 350's at 31inches and 250grains up front.  I also fooled with some cedars spined 80-85 cut at 31 with 190grains up front.  The first shots hit 8 inches low with the cedars showing weak spine.  I tweaked the brace up to 9 inches and got rid of the spider looking things in favor of some Hush Puppies.  The groups were okay at 18,22, and 26 yards.  I can hold this bow all day long at 54lbs at 28 inch.  I don't really know what it comes out to at my 30 inch draw length, but it feels like a kid's bow!  I do like the curly bubinga...  What do you fellas think?

Besides, the noise is less than that of most recurves I have shot.  Once the wool got put on the string, it got quieter.
