Powerbond Adhesive
« on: August 21, 2009, 10:07:00 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm also looking for a good fairly permanant adhesive for broadheads. I will not be switching points out with them, just need something that will hold them REAL GOOD. I was looking at powerbond. Has a long dry time (which is good to me) and is supposed to be really strong. If there are others let me know please.

Thanks!

I've had bad luck with Powerbond.  I use GoatTuff.  JB Weld (2-part epoxy) is also a good choice, and recently, I've seen some stuff on Gorilla Glue.

I'm not a fan of Powerbond either. BobW mentions a couple that I use.

Yep, same as above. Goat tuff best I have used if want faster drying. 24hr epoxy great for steel inserts/adaptors to broadheads.

power bond is a big mistake, I wouldn't use it.
there are better alternatives,...
gorilla glue, j.b. weld, and two part epoxy are three good ones.

One more thing, these will be to wood shafts if that makes a difference.

I love my Goat Tuff.  I use it for everything.  Nocks, inserts, & points on wood, carbon, and aluminum.  Best stuff out the IMHO.

JB Weld. They have a new product out that bonds in 4 minutes and cures in 4 hours. Just bought it and haven't tried it yet, but I swear by JB Weld. That, a roll of duct tape, some bailng wire, and YOU WILL fix anything on earth - except a broken heart (like after putting an arrow right over the buck you've been chasing for three years...   :(    :banghead:  ) I need a therapist...
